Growing up these days is nothing like it used to be twenty or so years from now. The eighties were absolutely magical when it came to day-time and primetime television. Television was a popular source of entertainment many thanks to the following list of cartoons which are still adored by many. The list is based solely on opinions. You guys are welcome to contribute. Read on and travel back to the time when things used to be simpler. Enjoy the read!

10. THUNDARR THE BARBARIAN

Thundarr - Top Ten Cartoons of All Time
Thundarr the barbarian was created by Steve Gerber and the series was produced by Ruby-Spears Productions. It was loved by loads though unfortunately the series only ran for two seasons. The first season aired from 1980-1981 and the second followed right after that. The cartoons are set in a future wasteland that is divided into kingdom and territories. The majority of these territories are ruled by wizards. The series was originally aired on ABC and later on NBC.

9. TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES

TMNT - Top Ten Cartoons of All Time
These cartoons need no introduction at all. It is based on four ninja turtles that are trained in the art of ninjutsu by their sensei that is a rat. These turtles are named after four very famous artists. They live in New York City and they fight crime and evils in the city. The names of the four turtles are Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo and each has mastered their weapon of choice. The main crime lord is Shredder and the name of the sensei is Splinter. The cartoons were very famous during the late 1980s and the fame lasted through the early 90s; loved this show.

8. MUPPET BABIES

Muppet Babies - Top Ten Cartoons of All Time
Muppet Babies come from America. They aired from the 15th September of 1984 to the 2nd November of 1991 on CBS. The show is all about the childhood versions of the Muppets that live in a nursery under the care of Nanny. The face of the Nanny is never shown though which is interesting. The show was produced by The Jim Henson Company and Marvel Productions. A total of eight seasons were produced with a total of 107 episodes. I never saw this show, however, it was quite a popular topic of discussion back in the day.

7. THUNDERCATS

ThunderCats - Top Ten Cartoons of All Time
This is an American/Japanese animated series. It was produced by Rankin/Bass Productions and they debuted in 1984. I used to love these cartoons and used to wake up early in the morning to watch reruns. The cartoon series has a total of 130 episodes. The main heroes include Lion-O, Jaga, Tygra, Cheetara, Snarf (not exactly a hero), Pumyra, and Lynx-O. Each episode averages around 22 minutes of play time. Do you guys remember Lion-O’s sword? Thunder, Thunder, Thunder, ThunderCats, Hooooooo!
