Activision is an American Video Game Publisher, majority of which is owned by Vivendi SA. The company was founded on 1st October in the year 1979 and they happen to be the world’s first independent developers. This list talks about the ten most famous and best games by the said company. All the games on this list are quite popular. There are few on the list that I haven’t personally tried and the list was purely based on ratings. You can find video previews of the games on YouTube to help you decide whether to invest your time and money on a particular game. Play hard!

10. DOOM 3

Doom 3 - Top Activision Games
It is a first-person horror video game. Man I remember playing doom a long time ago. The game was first released on the 3rd August, 2004 for Microsoft Windows. It is basically a redoing of the Doom franchise and it totally disregarded the story of the previous installments. It is set in the year 2145 on the planet Mars. They are conducting teleportation experiments there that go wrong and open a doorway to Hell. All sorts of things happen after that. It is scary though, if you play it alone in a dark room.

9. CALL OF DUTY 2

COD 2 - Top Activision Games
It is first-person shooter game and is the second installment of the Call of Duty Series. It was released on the 25th October in 2005. The time period is the World War II. You can experience the campaign mode from the perspective of four different characters. One serves the Red Army, one serves in the United States Army and the other two serve the British Army. The game was particularly well praised for the graphics, sound and the healing health system. The xBox version of the game sold over 250,000 copies in the first week.

8. RETUN TO CASTLE WOLFENSTEIN

Wolfenstein - Top Activision Games
The game is a first-person shooter and was originally released on the 19th November 2001; a long time ago. The multiplayer aspect of the game is more popular than the single player. The multiplayer is based on teamwork and the single-player mode is story based. The single player part was developed by Gray Matter Interactive while the multiplayer was developed by Nerve Software. Splash Damage was responsible for some of the maps in the game and the MP sequel called Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. It is one of the most popular free downloadable games on the internet; do give it a shot.

7. TONY HAWK’S UNDERGROUND

Underground - Top Activision Games
The game is abbreviated as “THUG”; pretty unfortunate don’t you think? The game was released in 2003 for various different platforms. It is the fifth game in the Tony Hawk’s series of games. You can create a custom character, face mapping is available and you can play online as well. The game lays a heavy focus on the story mode. What’s interesting is that you can travel around different levels on foot, just to analyze the track and mentally prepare yourself for tricks. But seriously, how can skating keep you entertained for that long when you do it sitting at home?

6. TONY HAWK’S PRO SKATER 2

Pro Skater 2 - Top Activision Games
This is the second installment in the Pro Skater series of sport games. The game was developed by Neversoft and released in 2000. The game was originally released for the PlayStation. It features an open-ended gameplay; you complete many different tasks and receive cash rewards. You can use that money to purchase skill improvements and better boards. The game offers incredible maneuvers and tricks to perform, so it should be able to keep you interested for an ‘enough’ period of time.
