It is said that behind every successful man there is always a woman’s hand and luck. Since forever, our world has been blessed with inspirational people to whom many look up to. Women should never be underestimated; they are some of the most inspirational people of all times and we are going to look into it today.
10.Emmeline Pankhurst
Emmeline was born in 1858 and was one of those women of her times who became a passionate campaigner for the women’s rights that they should vote. The person whom she got married to was also an activist on women’s suffrage movement but after his death Emmeline continued this movement and later made a union known as Women’s Social and Political Union. Due to her endless efforts she did for the women, they were given approval on the right to vote.
9.Rosa Parks
Rosa Parks was born in 1913 and was an African American civil rights activist. The incident that she is famous for was that she refused to obey the bus driver. The bus driver insisted her to give her seat to a white man but she refused to do so. She was arrested and put on trial which triggered the largest and most successful mass movements against racial segmentation in the country known as ”Montgomery Bus Boycott”. Her place in the American History has made her an icon in the American Culture and due to her actions the legacy continues.
8.Cleopatra 69 -30 BC
Cleopatra was the last Ptolemaic ruler of Egypt. She was regarded as the mathematician, businesswomen, politician and lady who was fluent in nine languages. She was the most famous queen of ancient Egypt. She was born in 69 BC in Alexandria. After the death of her sisters, she acquired the throne and during her rule, she defended Egypt from the Roman Empire, which was expanding rapidly. She is known to have seduced the Roman Generals; Julius Caesar and Mark Antony not because of her looks but because of her brain to preserve her Egypt empire.
7.Emily Dickinson
Emily Dickinson is regarded as one of the greatest poets of America; also she is well known for her not so normal life of occupied social seclusion and self-imposition. She has always lived a very simple life whilst writing poetry with strong words and meaning which showed power and elaboration of the nature of immortality and death. Her style of writing created an aura which was sometimes romanticized and always remained a source of interest and conjecture. She was a very intelligent and a bright girl since her childhood which allowed her to create many original writings, which provoked and expressed the ideas never dealt before, leaving an influence.
6.St Teresa Avila
Teresa Avila was born in 1515 in Spain. Coming from a pious Catholic family, she was always inspired by her parents to take up life of prayers. During her childhood, she showed the religious devotion but with time, she lost some of her religious zeal. However, at the age of 16 she became a nun after which she suffered an illness so fatal during which she got visions and inner sense of peace. When she recovered, she devoted much of her life setting up convents around Spain. Her reforms were welcomed by people and her teachings were beneficial for the people she came across.
